Earlier this year, I decided to start a rechargeable battery regime at my sister’s house, after noticing that the family used a lot of AA and AAA size batteries. This is mostly because of the handheld controllers for games consoles, such as the Xbox 360 and the Wii which use batteries very quickly.
There are numerous other devices which use batteries as well, such as TV and Cable box remote controls, clocks, wireless mouse and keyboard and even the new electric soap dispensers!

We all buy stuff from eBay and Amazon from time to time. We choose the product we like, add it to the basket, pay and have it delivered to our doors in few days. Sometimes we even sell some goods as well. We put the product up for sale, sell it and ship it. In both of above scenarios we are very cautious about getting the goods delivered in one piece, either we are a buyer or seller. This is when we consider packaging.

I like the EA. They have a difficult job and it’s made even harder when society and new governments place ever increasing demands on it to advance when the laws they are duty bound to enforce are not flexible enough to allow them to do it in a way that best fits.

We took a road trip today to visit our friends at Tidy Planet in Macclesfield. For those that don’t know of Tidy Planet they produce the popular Rocket Composter used by many companies up and down the country to turn their organic waste into quality compost.

I’ve been posting a bit on Twitter about whether or not businesses can generate brand value out of embracing sustainability. As usual it’s met with polarising views ranging from the questionable to the absurd (one of the reasons I love Twitter
) but it’s certainly got me spending more time on the look out and thinking about whether eco=brand.

More of a thought for the evening than my usual posts…
I was indulged in a familiar Sunday ritual involving (as my Wife would have you understand) far too much Football on the television. The particular game in question involved two of footballs founding members, almighty in Claret and Blue, Aston Villa and Burnley. We won’t talk about the result because, frankly, it still upsets me but during the half-time program, amongst the usual parade of players past, lotteries, tannoy requests and pie-eating (don’t you just love English sports?) something occurred that really pissed me off.

On April 1st 2010 the government launches a new scheme called ‘Clean Energy Cashback’. A lot has been written about it but, sadly, the reason for that is because, well, not a lot has been written about it. There are still several ‘i’s’ to dot, ‘t’s’ to cross but I’m sure they will be teased out in the passage of time won’t they Mr.Government?
