Looking back at 2009

If any of the 10,000 visitors we get to our website each month read this blog the one consistency you should probably find is a searing honesty about how we run our business, what we feel about the way our industry is heading and our thoughts and opinions on each of our roles in getting there. This is as much a strategic decision as much as simply not being able to help ourselves; speaking my mind in particular is something that has won me praise and criticism in almost equal regard but I have certainly derived more benefit from the the praise and even learned from the criticism so I don’t expect to change anytime soon! 
That précis might seem a tad over the top but when writing our obituary of 2009 I don’t think there is any way for it to come across without being painful – it has been a very tough year for the green house losing one our biggest clients in the recession and feeling the effects of the economic difficulties all businesses have experienced over the last 18 months. This is not, however, a sad story and that’s because i’m sat here at 23:17 on December 22nd 2009 writing this. What happened is that the resolve of our attitude, our staff, our member network and our business model has been severely tested and has come out on top. Business is stronger than ever and we have an exciting pipeline for 2010.
What lies below is our video diary of 2009, all the important events that happened to us and our business in 2009 and we would like to share that with whoever it is that might be visiting our site. Chances are it is either a client, a supplier, a potential one of both or someone who simply mistyped into Google. Either way, we hope you enjoy it and that it gives you an insight into who we are and what we are about.
Also, thanks for reading the blog. I started writing it at the end of last year as a way to keep people informed about how the business was progressing and many of you have told me you think it goes a long way to ensuring we get our messages across so I look forward to sharing more with you in 2010. Hey, I might even let someone else write something
