Quick visit to Tidy Planet

Categories: Business, Environment, Food Waste, Recycling, the green house

We took a road trip today to visit our friends at Tidy Planet in Macclesfield. For those that don’t know of Tidy Planet they produce the popular Rocket Composter used by many companies up and down the country to turn their organic waste into quality compost.

the green house is working on several projects at present for whom composting is going to be the ideal solution for handling their food waste and our visit was to take a look at the manufacture of the Tidy Planet systems. It was a useful visit and we look forward to developing our relationship with Tidy Planet.

One thing we discussed and share in common is the opinion that there is no ‘silver bullet’ for recycling. Many people (including our new government I fear) believe that AD (Anaerobic Digestion) is going to solve all our problems when it comes to organic waste but it simply isn’t true. There are lots of situations where composting is a far more sensible solution so it’s a good job we have people like Simon and Huw of Tidy Planet around to help us out!
